Wow, its nice to see I'm not alone. I'm new here. Been having alot of prob. with allergies and asthma especially since we moved to PA. (i thought it would be temporary, but it will be at least another year or two before we can move back to NJ).
I and my husband recently got sick with sinusitis. We both had Zithromax, (he had the new one, one dose in a huge drink of yucky medicine.lol I had the zpak), we both felt better, then ended up sick again, he got avalox, i got levaquin. My asthma started up again, and when I went to my dr. he took my temp with the ear thermoscan and said, 'wow, u have a 100.3 temp'. I never have temps, (except years ago when my asthma got worse again, then i ran low grade fevers all the time, but they found nothing). I usually use a digital thermometer, (and I usually am always taking my temp.lol), but my digital was 'normal' for me, (97or 98 when i'm not feeling too well). He then put me on Ketek, being I'm always getting sick and am usually on Levaquin or Zithromax. (some antibiotics cause different side effects). So he figured it was because my body was used to the antibiotics. I took the ketek for 5 days, and my temp went to 99.8. But I've noticed, my digital is lower than the thermoscan. Can that make a big difference? (i used to use the 'mercury glass' themometer, but of course those are banned now). I was worrying so much about my temp. And I know sometimes I 'sweat' but, with all the bloodwork I've had done, etc, they can't find anything. I'm always running to my dr. (who's in NJ, because the doctors where I live I'm not very happy with, there's usually 25 of them in a practice and you have to make appts. months in advance to get the same dr.)all the time that I'm sure they 'roll their eyes' when they hear my voice.lol. I even wanted to find a pulmonary dr. close to me, and have to wait over 2 months to get in. My temp did go down, but sometimes it goes up, and I'm wondering if its my allergies, asthma or what. (my husband also didn't have 'allergies' until we moved to the Lehigh Valley in PA). Matter of fact alot of people I talk to tell me that when they say they never had allergies, their doctors say, 'welcome to the Lehigh Valley, PA' lol
