Hi Joan, I sometimes get a sore throat to the point of it feeling like it's on fire. My former ENT contributed it to my gerd, but I didn't go along with that. The healthy foods I was eating did not differ on my days of increased pain.
What I found that was contributing to my sore throat were allergic conditions like fresh paint, household dust, mold, candles, passive smoke, and pets. So I try to stay away from those environments.
In a earlier topic, I mentioned our local asphalt plant. My particulate matter meter has been a tremendous help to me. Then I know which days I can venture outdoors for a walk and which days I should take a walk in our local mall.
For my dry eyes which sometimes become very gritty, I use a doctor/prescribed nonpreservative dry eye drops. For my burning throat I use sugar free throat drops and I drink plenty of water. Sometimes it helps, and sometimes it doesn't.
Good luck to you.
