HI All--Anyone have any suggestions what would be a good way to search for a new Allergy/Asthma Specialist? I want to get a good doctor to help me with my asthma. I have tried searching on the internet a little bit and looking in the phone book. I know word of mouth is always a good resource so you know you will get proper care. Let me know....Thanks

Sorry you named most of the ways I search. However, I also call into the office first to see if the receptionist seems or sounds nice.
I wish you good luck in your quest .
If your in ClearLake,TX Dr. Alps is very good

I'm from Michigan so I can't help you, but here in Michigan, some hospitals have a 1-800 number you can call for specialist referrals. They tell you the specialist credentials and how long they have been in operation. Worth a shot?

Call the 1-800# or go online for the American Lung Association -- they will give you a list of MDs in your area that specialize in Asthma and this way you can narrow your search.

If you trust your regular doctor you can ask him/her who they would suggest.
