Low Grade Fever with Allegies

Hi there and welcome :) First and foremost, never let anyone make you feel this is all in your head. We can't imagine fevers. Second, I haven't ever had a fever with my allergies but I guess it could be possible. Do you feel that you could've picked up a virus somewhere? Are you on any allergy meds now?

Wow, you sure have had a lot going on for sure! Obviously you have something going on, but as to what, I honestly don't know. It doesn't quite sound like allergies to me but allergies can be sort of strange for some. I sincerely hope that you don't have Lyme, Lupus or any other AI. I suggest you go online and research these diseases and see if you have other symptoms related to them. If you have a few of the symptoms that go with these diseases, you might be able to point the docs in the right direction. But if in the event you have an AI, please know that sometimes a diagnoses for them is not clear cut. It can take many many years to get a diagnoses because the tests for these are not too reliable.

As for getting a virus repeatedly, I would say yes.......my mother in law, who's body is a little strange anyway, meaning she reacts differently to everything is still fighting the virus battle that has been plagueing her for about 8 months. She has been on several stints of antibiotics but somehow it keeps coming back. The docs don't quite know what it is but they keep telling her it's a virus. I'm curious, where are you from?

Yes..a lot. Yeh, I agree with it being strange for some. What do you think doesn't sound like allergies? Is it because it comes and goes? I guess it could be whatever I'm allergic to. I don't know. Thank you. I hope not too. Oh yes, I have done countless days of research. Lupus, the only real symptoms I can see that I have in common for the most part is fatigue and unexplained fevers for the most part I think. They also say it's usually a fever over 100. Mine for the most part is 99.0 - 99.4 sometimes rising to 100.0 With Lyme, well, 75 symptoms which range from a common cold symptoms to the worst possible it seems and everything in between. Ugh. Yes, I agree. I've been taking all kinds of notes into the doc with anything I can come up with. I think the one I have most symptoms would be CFS. Which I guess that's just about as hard to diagnose as any of these other AI diseases. Geez, how do they ever get a correct diagnosis? That's what I really wonder the most. Don't they say that blood tests aren't accurate on any of this stuff including allergies? Do you know if the scratch and needle test is accurate for allergy testing? That's what I'm getting done on the 17th.

Really on the virus thing? How do they know that your mother in law for sure has a virus? Sorry for so many questions. That's really interesting. The thing I worry about with your MIL is that won't she get immune to the antibiotics? Ugh. I hope they get it figured out. I am from SW Florida. The land of different allergens 11-12 months out of the year. I wonder about allergic reactions to mold? Do you know anything about that. I did read about fevers from mold, but not sure if that's accurate. Thanks in advance for any other comments/concerns/support/help. You have no idea how much this means to me and how much I appreciate it.

Really on the fevers? Hmm. So what do you mean by subjective fever then? I did wonder why they called Hay Fever with the Fever in the name. Thank you so much. I'm not really sure if I have much of a fever, because who is to say what my normal body temp is I guess. It could run a little high, and from what I understand a digital seems to read a little higher than the old glass mercury thermometers. Does anyone know about this for sure? I feel a little better today after taking the Zyrtec last night. Still some sneezing and runny, stuffy nose off and on this morning.

Also does anyone know much about Red Tide? I think I need to research that a little bit cause it's in our area and could possibly be some kind of allergic reaction to that as well I guess.

I got the same thing from my allergist. She doesn't think it will cause a fever. At the same time my ENT says it's surely possible. I'm still wonderig if it could be from allergic reactions to mold. I've read a lot that it can cause a low grade fever, then I've read other places that did not mention fevers. I had called my veternarian about my birds, and she was asking about mold because they have another client that was in and out of the hospital for 2 years with the exact same symptoms I'm going through including the low grade fevers and they finally came up to a conclusion that it was mold causing this. I'm just so confused on all of this. When I started taking the Zyrtec a few weeks ago, the next day I felt so much better and had my energy back, but still a bit of fever. The fever seemed to start dropping until I had to go off all meds to go in for allergy testing which I did last week. After the allergy testing my fever started to rise again..but still staying at the low grades. I'm sure not going to give up, like you. I'm just limited since I have no insurance. Please keep me informed on what they find out with you Valentina.

My allergy tests came up with allergic reactions to 5 out of 6 grasses, 3 weeds, cockroach dander and 3 molds. My testing was done on Tuesday the 17th. I go into to see my ENT on Tuesday the 24th for his evaluation of all this. A few of the injection sites still look like mosquito bites. Is this normal?

Thanks to all of you for replying. This is really driving me out of my mind not knowing and with all the opinions from differnt docs and also researching the internet on different allergy and disease sites. I don't know where to turn next or what to do.

I am new here. I have been having low grade fever (99) and allergy symptoms such as sneezing, itchy nose and ear , sore throat and acid reflux. I also feel really tired and sometimes I get really bad headaches. The symptoms sometimes go away for a couple of days and then they are back. Now I have a mild eye infection and swollen glands in my neck. This is isn't the first year that this has happened but it has never been this bad. The doctor prescribed antibiotics which I am still taking. I have been taking telfast as well (to fight allergies).

I have a lot of food allergies (cauliflower, certain nuts, sesame seeds, certain sea food). I am also allergic to certain grasses, hair dyes, washing liquids & stuff. I also have asthma and eczema. It is really frustrating!
