so what formula can i use since he wont take nutramigen and alimetum is milk based?

If I were you, I'd stay on the Alimentum for a few more weeks to make sure, because it may take a few weeks for the effects of the previous formula/breast milk to go away. If you do want to go ahead and find a dairy-free formula, here are some I found with a quick search:

Neocate and EleCare are completely free of allergenic proteins. Ross makes a soy-based infant formula called Similac Isomil and also Similac Isomil Advance Soy Formula with Iron. Check the baby aisle in the grocery store, and ask your son's pediatrician for ideas, too. Ask a pharmacist for samples of Neocate or EleCare or any of the other formulas. Most pharmacies can order these formulas for you if a grocery store doesn't carry them on the shelf. Or you can buy them online.

Also, are you using hypoallergenic soaps and lotions on the rash? Vitamin E oil may be a good option also, since it promotes healing of the skin. Double-check with his doctor to make sure it is safe...

Something else is that the laundry soap, dryer sheets, etc., could also lead to skin rashes, so make sure to get the "hypoallergenic" or "free and clear" versions of laundry products if you want to cut down on perfumes and other known irritants.

I learned about food & other allergies the hard way (experience), and my husband has tons of food/other allergies too. Our house is free of the top 8 (wheat/gluten, soy, egg, dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish) plus some...

thanks all laudry is free of dyes and fragrances...soap is dove per pedi advice...lotion is aveeno or eucerin

we were using baby all but now it is all free
thanks for vthe compliment...that pic is about 2 mo old it was first time with "real" food
