Hi Im Mia....im new to this board.... I have recently been diagnosed with Asthma so I am still new to it. I just experienced my first asthma attack this past weekend and it lasted all weekend. I started to have warning signs Friday morning and still went about
my normal daily activities which included running. I took my med 15 mins before like I was told to but half way into my run I started wheezing so I went back home and for the rest of the weekend I was out of breath and very very tired. I used my albuterol a couple times a day and it helped...im finally starting to feel like myself again....I still have some shortness of breath but a lot better than it was this weekend. I didnt know attacks could last so long...is that usually the case?

Mia,
Welcome to HealingWell. You probably need to let your doctor know about
this. I definitely would not try running again until you've talked with your doctor. Do you see an allergist for your asthma? What medications are you on? It seems that most asthma patients do better when treated by allergists. Pulmonologists are great also. It's just that usually allergies and asthma go hand in hand.
Take care!

Thanks. I am going to try to make an appointment soon with my doctor. I do not see an allergist but I do see an pulmonologist for my asthma. Right now the only med I have is my rescue inhaler...Albuterol.
