Hello...I'm new here so I'll introduce myself.
I am a 26 yr old F. I have loads of medical issues. In fact I am the healthiest sick person you will ever meet! I was born with heart arrythmia's. Which I still have to this day and take medications for , as well as a murmur and I have extra bits of tendion on my ventricles that aren't normal but don't hurt anything. I also have epilepsy. I have cervical cancer, IBS, siatica nerve problems(know that's spelt incorrectly, sorry), I have kidney and bladder stones...oh heck I'm shot all over. LOL
Anyway to get to the point. I've always been short of breath. Since I was a kid. I attributed it to my heart. I would see the cardiologist and complain, and they didn't pay me much attention. I've even landed in the hospital with my arrythmia..which finally got me some attention. Through that I got a new cardiologist. And I decided I would hold nothing back, no matter how silly it sounded. Even the breathing.
The breathing is very hard for me right now actually. It is summer here in Alabama. Extremely humid. My breath is short, and shallow. To help me breath, you'll often find me standing with my head in the freezer. It's cooler, crisp air, and for as long as I'm breathing it, I can get a good breath in and feel rejunvinated. Lately I'm on the couch, with no energy, and unable to breath well.
In the last year, I've developed a cough. My hubby and I rough house, and i mean rough house. We wrestle around on the floor, but wind up having to stop, because I begin coughing badly. I even cough up phelm. Which I'm not sick, no cold or anything...and then out of the blue, I'm coughing like that. It also happens in the swimming pool. about 15-20 minutes of just chillin' on a float in the pool I start coughing like that. If I laugh too long and hard or get around bleach...same thing.
The doctor asked me if I had asthma.. i told her, I didn't think so, no one had ever suggested it before. Anyway, she is sending me to a Pulmonologist to be test for asthma.
Is it possible I could have asthma? I thought cold triggered asthma, not heat/humidity. I also always heard ppl with asthma had trouble getting air out, not in. And I never wheeze. I rarely get chest colds etc. In my life I've had bronchitis once and walking phnemonia once. It's not a big problem for me.
Can anyone please educate me on this? And tell me if my symptoms are possibly asthma? I just always thought my heart caused my breathing chaos.
Thank you
