allergic to darvocet

Darvocet is a combination of two medications..Tylenol and Propoxphene. Try taking a regular tylenol to rule out which of medications in the darvocet your allergic too. If you have a reaction to the tylenol then you know which medication to stay away from and you must let all the Doctors treating you know of this. Could also be a allergic reaction to the Propoxphene that is in Darvocet. There are many different type of pain medications not all have Proppoxphene or tylenol in them. Vicodin has tylenol in it and you've had that so could be a allergic reaction to the propoxphene in the Darvocet.
Also, next time your having a allergic reaction call the doctor you could've gone into anaphlasis shock. Usually most doctors will tell you to use Benadryl for allergic reactions and ER's use it in an IV for allergic reactions.
I took Erythromycin for years for bronchitis and on a morning of the second day after taking Erythromycin I had some pretty bad tremors, itching chest tightness and came very close to anaphlasis as I ever wanna get, allergic reactions can happen to anything.

Thank you Chartreux! I tried what you said. The Tylenol is not the problem. Its the proproxphene. My doctor has since then given me Tylenol 3 which was not helpful in any way. She since than has given me Ultram 50mg. It is slightly better for the pain but does not take it all away. I get very sleepy with it and have three children so you can only imagion how I feel. I'm dealing with the pain even though the ultam doesn't take anything but the edge off. I guess I'm worried the doctor is going to think I'm some kind of drug addict just wanting a stronger dose or something stronger all together. I thank you so much for your prays. I really need them right now, and if what they say about prayer works better in #s than I should be just fine. I'm still VERY scared about the surgery itself. The docs say its a fairly routine procedure. My question is to who them or me? I have to have a laparoscopy surgery done. I've had pelvic pain going on 3 years now and it only gets worse. I was in the medical field untill after my last child was born and then I put it on hold to be an at home mom with my kids. They are truly what keeps me motivated. Do you think that I should tell the doctor that the ultam isn't taking all the pain away? Or should I just stick it out. I feel that I should but on the same note I've been on their side of the fence and know what its like to feel that people are only out to get pain meds. As for the hard to breath I've still been taking my Ativan but It doesn't seem to help the difficulty with breating. Ihave even waited an hour and half and have taken an additional one and still it is hard to breath. I am worried to say anything to my doctor about it because I know that they are going to see it as a new symptom and I don't think I could handle being told that it has spread into my chest. like I said I have 3 babies that need to see that their mom is strong. Alot dosen't even seem to cover it! I will call both my doctors today and see what they have to say. ON top of all this happening my house got broke into and all the medications, including my children's, for asthma was stolen. this just hasn't been the best month. As for my kids after surgery, my mom is a blessing, she's taking time off to help take care of them and me. I know I'll be down and out on the couch for a couple of days before I'll be able to get up and be able to run after them.
I just see my family phy. for the anxiety. And my surgery and all pain meds is through my OB. I wish there was a way to have them both be the same doc. LOL. I do have a church that has offered to help in any way possible but I have this thing callled pride that gets in the way. Besides I believe that the church is the last resort to get certain help. Help with understanding the bible and the way I should be living and raising my children is really the only help I like to get from the church. My church is a poor on. They have a hard enough time paying their electric bill soI wouldn't want to burden them with all my problems. The lord says its important to give more than you take and I try to live by that daily. Along with many other things.

yes I was able to get them refilled with getting a headache in the process.LOL. I had no trouble getting my sons but mine they were a little hesitant. Needless to say they did refill it. Thank you Lord. I also have a doctor appointment for my difficulty with breathing. They were telling me that it could be a minor reaction to the ultram and thats why they want to see me. My heart definitly sunk when they told me that. I don't want to be allergic to any more pain meds. It just makes me worry more about after the surgery. I'm almost to the point where I'd rather deal with the pain than keep trying different pain meds. In fact I had phone in my hand with the phone # already dialed to cancel my sugery, but I didn't. I just hung up really quick once I realized it was my fear getting the best of me.

I have insurance so my meds are only 10 with the co-pay but my sons are on the $4 list.

What can a church do that I haven't already done? I mean I already have my mom to help with the kids and a husband that pays the bills. What kind of help can they give? I feel like I have it all pretty well covered. I'm at peace with God. I'm not angry with him for giving me this pain or the medical problem. (What doesn't kill you only makes you stronger! Right?!?) I just wonder about the doctors, I thought that Kemo and Radiation was the best way to go but they pushed for surgery then Kemo and Radiation. I just keep telling myself that it isn't that bad. Self denile is keeping me going. I try not to make mountains out of mole hills because I have 3 little ones looking up to me.
