Allergies to perfumes/scented soaps/etc.

I am wondering if anyone else has their throat start to close up and severe cough when exposed to perfume or scented soap or candles? If so, what do you do when an attack starts? I have recently realized that I am HIGHLY sensitive/allergic to perfumes. I don't wear them myself, never have, but if I come within about 5 feet of anyone with perfume on I start coughing and my throat closes up. I have an emergency inhaler but today it didn't work fast enough and I would up in the ER getting a shot of I think they called it epinephrine. If you have this problem, is there a specific med or action you take when an attack occurs?
