Hi, I am an senior industrial design college student and have asthma. For a project, I am redesigning the rescue inhaler and was wondering if anyone could share any information with me. I'm basically just looking for any issues you would like to be addresses or resolved with the new rescue inhaler design. Also, any information on how you use your inhaler like: where you keep them, if you have one on you all the time, if you have more than one in use at a time, how often you get a new one, etc. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I carry mine everywhere. I get a new one every few months (I don't need it regular). I don't see how you can make it more compact than it is now. I do have issues about losing my cap though.

Maybe an oval shaped mouth piece, I carry mine around every where and use it when needed,
I keep it in a special pouch in my purse..I do wipe the pouch out and keep it clean along with the inhaler..
I also clean my purse twice a week or more often...Usually, I get a new inhaler when I use one up or
if lucky just before the expiration date......

I wish there was a way to tell how many doses were left (or how many doses have been used) on the inhaler. Some of the steroid inhalers do this, but it would be nice to also see this on a rescue inhaler.

Also, I agree the cap is easily lost...

Since I only get Asthma occasionally (Fall/Winter only), I don't use my rescue inhaler very often.

I got a good one for you! When I was in school as a young kid. As lame as it sounds my mommy =) knitted me a inhaler cover with a belt loop so I could have with me at all times. If you could find a way to sow them using cute different fabric... You could actual sell them.. LOL. Any who.. The problem I had with my inhaler is that it too bulky and doesn't fit in your pocket like a phone and since you have to carry it all the time.. It needs a Belt loop!
