Hi everyone-!
As you know--taking the "methacholine challenge" Thurs & was WORRIED about them using Albuterol to reverse any coughing after inhaling the "meth" because of my heart rhythm issues (SVT etc)-
I had e-mailed my Pulmonary Dr. last nite & she wrote back this AM & said.."Tell them NOT to use any beta 2 antogonists with me!
I JUST called up the testing center--& told them what my Dr. said- They said they'd call me back as they usually use.."Albuterol"-! The one tech was very nice- , she called back right away----------Said she spoke with my Dr. & they will use INSTEAD of Albuterol.......a med called ATROVENT----which does not have any "cardiac" side effects (it is a bronchodilator)---
The tech was nice & complimented me----for being so..."aware" of my health issues!
This makes me feel much better & secure! I never heard of "Atrovent"-! Does anyone here use it? Do you find it helpful? It seems to have less side effects & NO "cardiac" side effects! Maybe it's..."milder"---so it's not used as much--! Get back with any info on this! Thanks again--Regards-Robert
