Food triggers

Do any of you have asthma or other lung symptoms that come about from eating food? If so, how long does the lung discomfort last... will it last for hours, days, or will it last until you take some sort of medication to deal with it?

I wheeze after almost every meal. It is strange because if I do not eat, I do not wheeze. I have seen an allergist and an esophagael specialist. I do have some food allergies that I will be trying an elimination diet for. I am pretty sure however that mine is from Acid Reflux. I f you have severe acid reflux like I have for many years,the medicine just stops the acid but cannot stop bile, food, etc from coming back into your esophagus and possibly lungs. A surgery called Nissan Fundiplication actually stops anything from coming back up, which is what I am considering. Hope this helps. Lannie

have you told your doctor any of this??? Food allergies are common, and if you think your allergic to something then maybe allergy testing
is where you should begin...but acid reflux could be the problem too...so take this up with your doctor to find out...

usually with food allergy it's avoidance, but with acid reflux medicines can help...
