Inhalers causing reflux

Has anyone ever had a problem with their asthma meds causing reflux, indigestion or GERD? I read that they can. I know something I am taking is causing it and I can't figure out what! At first I thought it was the zoloft I was taking and that could be part of it. Now I am suspecting Advair.

yes, I got a book out of the library on it. brochodilators (sp?) can stretch you out and contribute to reflux. I take 1 reflux pill before eating as I am taking a very heavy duty aspirin based pain pill after the meal. You take the reflux pill 20 to 30 minutes before eating and after the meal you can take the heavy duty pain pill.

Oh great, yet another pill to take. I wonder if there are any asthma meds that do not cause reflux??? I swear once you start taking meds, it's like you have to take even more to to counteract the &*()&)*& side effects!!! It's crazy. Plus, they said Advair is dangerous now, especially if you are African American. I am not but still, it is so frustrating.

I have severe arthritis and borderline reflux. For my severe arthritis I take an asprin based medicine. My arthritis has not been caused by allergies. I was born with dislocation of the hip and hammertoes, etc.

Asthma and allergies are a drag but you can learn to live with it. It is very frustrating though. I am hoping you feel better.
