Hello, I'm kitkat and I'm new to this website, so I'm terribly sorry if this doesn't belong here.
Anyway, to get started I'm eighteen-years-old and a senior in high school. My immune system isn't... Quite up to par with most people my age, but I've managed to get by. Anyway, since January I've been running a fever from 99-102 Fahrenheit almost non-stop, every so often its lulled to 98-99, but that only lasts a couple days and my regular body temperature is 97.6. I've been to doctors multiple times and they've said its just a common cold, but I don't think a cold should last four almost five months right? I've been on a bunch of antibiotics and I've been taking advil and tylenol to reduce fever, but even that isn't getting me below a 100 once I'm up and about. My mother wants to bring me back to the doctors tomorrow and I've flat out said it has to be allergies and I don't want to go again. Has anyone here ever had a low-grade semi-long term fever?
Also so additional information:
I'm over weight (working on it.)
My mother smokes
I had received a bad ankle injury around the same time I started running this fever; however, in the xray no breaks were found
Some of my symptoms are fever, fatigue, and irritability.
I believe at this point I must just be allergic to something, but I'm not sure. Any advice and opinions would be welcomed. Thank you very much for your time, I would just agree with going back to the doctors, but its just frustrating to be told its a cold and to repeat the process again.
