Allergies and positive Autoimmune Disease

I've got several environmental allergies and drug allergies. I was recently told I have a positive ANA test with 320 titers. Which is a sign of autoimmune disease. Which one I won't know until further testing.

I was just wondering if the two are related? Do any of you have an autoimmune disease and allergic to everything?

I too have an AI condition and possibly a few more (I am finding out on Monday). I have had allergies for a long time but these past few years seem to be the worse. New allergies are coming thru, especially to medications.

It's not that surprising really Joy. AI conditions is just the immune system being confused, very much like with allergies. Many people over on the Uc forum, find that in the spring and fall that they're Uc tends to flare up more and it correlates to the increase of allergic reactions due to outdoor or indoor allergens. So it seems to make sense that with other AI conditions that the same principle may apply.

This topic was brought up recently in the Crohn's forum as well... Crohn's hasn't seemed worse to me during the spring but my springtime allergies seem to get worse every year

My allergies became dramatically worse after my UC diagnosis. Seasonal allergies are much worse, I developed oral allergy syndrome, I've become extremely sensitive to all kinds of chemicals, etc. However, allergy season doesn't cause my UC to flare--it'll flare when it wants to!

Yes I have autoimmune disorders and multiple allergies which the allergies did not show themselves until I had autoimmune disease for a while. I have rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia I am allergic to sugar rubber blue dye toilet paper feminine hygiene products and a lot of chemicals. A lot of these things are in my food I am finding out and that is why I feel so bad all the time. I have found cooking everything I eat instead of buying premade food has helped me a lot. Do not fall into the gluten-free sugar-free allergy free trap. Every single one of those products replaces the sugar the gluten or whatever else with a chemical form of it and since the FDA doesn't consider that food stuff they approve it. I've done a lot of research on these chemical names and found out 75 to 80% of them contain some kind of chemical sugar. It is a lot of work I would suggest writing down the chemical names of stuff that you have reacted to keep track of it all. It's been about 8 months since I had my allergy test and I have figured out what foods I can and cannot have. I've had to change a lot of things in my environment but it is starting to help. My immunologist explained that if you have uncontrolled autoimmune disorders that you are more likely to have allergies. You should probably go and see a rheumatologist and get tested for autoimmune disease and start the process. I wish all the luck to you this is been extremely hard.
