My 9 year old has cough variant asthma. 2 months ago he started with the cough, set off I am sure by pollen. The coughing slowed and his nose started running with tons of sneezing. 2 days ago, the cough came back. He sounds as if he is going to hack up a lung. He had a hard time sleeping last night. He has used his albuterol, given him Delsym, Flovent, heating pad on his chest (which sometimes calms his cough). I took him to see his Dr this morning and she has prescribed an oral steroid. If he doesnt stop coughing like this he is going to end up throwing up soon. It hurts him to cough and I was trying to find some other ideas to help him. I totally cleaned his room, took the comforter off the bed, took the stuffed animals out. He will get into a shower for the steam, hopefully that will help. I have read that green tea with honey might help. Any other ideas would help, at this point, I think he is willing to try anything.
Thank you
(he says he wants it GONE!!)
