i think i have sinus prob

Are you just cleaning the end of your nose or are you doing a sinus sinse or wash? Did your doctor say to use plain water? Water is fine for a little outside cleaning, but you usually would be using saline (salt water) for a rinse.

You can just sniff a little salt water from your palm, use a squeeze-type spray bottle or an aerosol for minor moistening and rinsing. Some people like Nettipot (basicaly just a plastic teapot) for a deeper rinse. I prefer my NeilMed squeeze bottle for a really deep wash, which can be too much for a lot of people, but it is necessary for my chronic sinus infection.

I add a couple of drops of baby shampoo to my salt water as a surfactant to hopefully break up my plaques. If you want to make up your own salt water mix, I like 1/2 tsp salt, sometimes 1/2 tsp baking soda in a cup of water. Some people like it stronger, some like it half strength. There are lots of formulae on the net.

A sinus infection will give you a headache. I've had one for 2 years, am way past impatient. A little blood is routine for me when my nose gets dry, but if you have a lot of bleeding or it won't quit you need to see a doctor. To keep my nose from getting "crusty" at night, I like a drop of AYR nasal gel just inside each nostril. I've heard that petroleum jelly can get into your lungs and not get out easily.
