Recommended portable nebulizers

wwelll, got Xopenex nebulizer treatments again...
Started coughing a couple of weeks ago, hubby was concerned,
so went to pcp today and have to do the nebulizer treatments...
Then I got thinking, what types of nebulizers, do y'all use,
Mine is a older big tabletop model and well could use some recommends
and talk it over with my Doctor after Thanksgiving (in USA)...
Hope y'all can give me what type you use and name of it, ect...
and do any of you use a portable one...???

What a difference some nebulizer treatments can make you feel...
doing so much better today...
not cough free yet but getting there...

I have a simple table top one. I only need it when I have bronchitis or pneumonia.

When I have to use it I do it every four hours with a blast of albuterol inbetween to keep me open. (example: 6am-nebulizer, 8am-albuterol, 10am-nebulizer, 12pm- albuterol, etc..)

My doctor wanted to keep ahead of the things this time, as last time the doctor didn't listen to me when I had this same cough I ended up with pneumonia...I get pneumonia easy and last year was my 4th battle with it...I really don't want it again as I think next time he'll put me in the hospital, plus I can't take erythromycin which is the common class medicine typically used to treat the pneumonia (I'm very allergic to erythromycin) and Levoquin might
get pulled from the selves as it can cause joint damage and assosiated with knee blow outs.
and the nebulizer is making me feel better, every 8 hours as needed for now...

My husband has a very compact unit made by Phillips called Respironics. He also only uses his nebs on an as needed basis - wheezing, short of breath.

I have a small portable unit called ProNeb Ultra II....I use Xoepenex with it. I need at night during bad allergy times & when I get bad I use 3 times a day with my Advair and rescue inhaler in between. I have both allergies and asthma. I get those bad coughing spasms but not just at night. I get them so bad that I choke and get breathe....then I go into wheezing. Lately has gotten scary so I just had to bump up Advair to 500/50 to settle things down. Plus I take Singulair. I hope this info helps you. Take care!
