Do you know the cause of your pnd? Have you tried eliminating allergens from your home? Do you smoke? If so, this can increase pnd. Have been checked for GERD? Even if you don't have heartburn, GERD can cause PND by a back flow of acid while you sleep, irritating the sinus cavity which produces pnd.

i do not smoke. i do work in a high rise though on the 39th floor - they just sprayed for bugs last week. idk but it's worse at work. i had been told i could have GERD before. maybe i should take the meds for a week or so and see if it feels better. it doesn't bother me at night though which makes me think it's not it. only symptoms i have of gerd are sometimes feeling like my food might come back up or in my throat. i did just have allergy tests and i'm allergic to dust and mold. tried homeopathic meds today didn't work.

Pollen counts have jumped in my area due to getting a little rain. Last year I suddenly started having drip trouble when the grass counts were extremely high, and I hadn't had grass allergy previously.
I take allergy shots for dust, mold and mites, also tree, weeds and now grass is added to that. I don't have symptoms this year.
You might check with an allergist. A few simple tests and just telling him your symptoms could give you answers.

I've had this so I know what you are going through. I want to tell you that it does gradually go away...at least that is what is happening with me. I used to have it 24/7 just like you describe. Now I only get it sometimes at night and it has definitely lessened in severity. If it gets bad, one or two Benadryl would always manage to dry everything out for me so I know longer had that awful sensation of having wet, sticky mucus in my throat. Benadryl did really make me sleepy as well. It does not get to the root of the problem, but it was a Godsend for me because of both the antihistamine effect and making me sleepy at night. Believe it or not, the other thing that really seemed to have gradually helped me get rid of the pnd was good old cold lemon water! I was never a big water drinker (part of the reason I ended up with pnd, I'm sure); but now I drink loads of cold lemon water. It's become my beverage of choice. I've noticed a big difference in the amount of mucus that I have. One thing about
lemon water is that some people I know have messed up the enamel on their teeth from it. I was told using a straw would help stop that but I don't know if this is the case. I like the taste and effects of it so much that, at my age, I am just saying the Hell with it...I just keep sucking the stuff down. My own theory (and this may sound strange) is that since mucus is designed to protect the body (by lubricating the tissues and flushing out the bad stuff); there may be a correlation between fear and anxiety and mucus production. The body is getting the message that it is being threatened in some way. That's just how I see it. I never thought my PND would get this much better, but over time it can definitely go away. Hang in there.
