I’m also really sensitive to bandaids. Some skin is more sensitive than other areas, but bandaids can actually make my skin bleed.
When I have blood tests the bandaid hurts more than the test, and takes a few days to heal. (The refuse to just not cover it.) Normally they’ll be a perfect outline of the bandaid in red, puffy/sticky skin. The hypo allergenic tape is worse for me, I get little red dots all over the area of the bandaid.
Once I went to the physio and she taped up my shoulder, swearing that she’d never had anyone have a reaction to this tape… It took off so much skin that I actually had to cover it with non-stick pads and bandages for three days because it was weeping so much that it was sticking to my clothes.
I’ve just stocked up on the little non stick pads and small bandages for when I really can’t get by without covering the cut.
