Last night before bedtime I had an asthma attack (12:30am). I have the coughing/wheezing type...

I took my inhaler and my nightly dose of advair 500/50.

I wake up again at 4am coughing and wheezing again. Took my inhaler...didn't help so did my nebulizer...back to sleep...

5:45 am woke up again wheezing/coughing... smhair

After sitting up in my recliner my breathing got better with just occasional cough but no wheezing.

I'm getting so tired of my asthma getting worse lately. I've been through two rounds of 9 days of steriods trying to get this knocked down. When I'm on the steriods I have no troubles, but moment off I start back up again. mad

see your pulmonologist. you may have developed copd or some other disease you don't know about. last time i ran into the out of breath thing, i spent 3 days in the hospital with pneumonia.

if you have asthma and copd you have to be very serious about your cpap machine. trust me, the cpap is a life saving piece of equipment.

I don't have signs of any infections. I guess I need to call to see her on Monday.
I'm thinking my lupus has got my lungs inflammed right now.
If that's so then there's no telling what she will have me doing next. :(

Saw the pulmologist I didn't wheeze once for her during the exam! They have air filters in the building so my lungs were clear.
The lab tech who took my xray was bathe in Axe. I immediately went into an asthma attack. I had to go to see a different lab tech for blood work. By the time I came back to the exam room the attack had gone down to a slight rattle. The doctor came back in and I was barely making a wheeze. She couldn't hear at thing.

So I've got another predisone pack for a 10 days round. Such fun.

I understand about the drs not hearing the wheeze, it happens to my son all the time. It is soo frusterating. Hope you are feeling better :)
