What's going on everybody?
I'm 19 and started getting sick around the end of November. I've been here in Santa Barbara, California for 6 months and this winter weather is COLD especially at night. I'm talking 35F.
Anyways I believe it started with my throat getting irritated, then it evolved into me having these cough attacks at night.
I started consuming a decent amount of Emerg-C, cough drops and oranges to boost my vitamin C intake. It did not really help.
I'm at the point where i'm coughing almost 24/7.
I may have recently noticed a pattern where I seemingly wake up fine in the morning. Then i test my lungs to find phlegm present, so i purposefully cough it out for the most-part. I spend half the day trying to cough it out and it's yellow.
HOWEVER, evenings i'm having these dry coughs. No mucus, just a tingling sensation in my lungs provoking coughs. When I try to speak, ill start coughing after like 10 seconds. I sleep fine, then the cycle repeats following day.
In addition to that, any activity that involves me breathing heavy makes me cough even harder... i.e: biking fast, running.
I started chewing on ginger yesterday, drinking lots of water, taking Nyquil and Robitussim DM.
I have never been sick for this long. My immune system is usually very sane and I get sick 1 week maximum if i ever do. Anyways please help me, it's affecting my mood at work, I don't feel like speaking to people and my sales are lower than ever.
