(Asthma)-Prednisolone for 2 1/2 years-How to lose the weight gained ??

Hello i was on prednisolone for about 2 and a half years from 40mg - 5mg(every other day) and i have finally come of them and want to lose the weight i gained(40-50 Kg) while was on them, i am 15 now and i am just wondering if anyone knows the best way to Lose this weight ??

I forgot to mention that i am on 4 Omalizumab injections(4 x 150mg) every 2 weeks for my asthma.

Start exercising and eating healthy. Fruits and veggies to fill you up. Don't skip meals though. Don't be mad with yourself if you have a bad day because if you completely limit things that you love you will never stick with the diet. Just remember it took you two and a half years to gain the weight, its going to take a while to lose it. Set goals but realistic ones.

So its basically just the same as anyone else trying to lose weight(Nothing different for people who have been on steroids), and yeah im not expecting it all to drop off straight away but hopefully i will see some changes,unlike before since i have come off i haven't changed at all which isn't surprising since i haven't done much exercise so i will definitely be doing what you said.

I have a friend who was on steroids like me but for a shorter amount of time(Around 1 year) he only really got the moon face and a bit of weight but after a few months of being of them he lost all the weight, he said he didn't really do much exercise.
Im guessing that wont happen to me since i put on a lot more weight, should i expect to lose any weight after being off them for a month or will it only start to fall of when i start dieting and exercising properly like you said ?? ??

I really needed to get off my butt and exercise but I was 38 at the time. Some people also retain a lot of water from being on the steriod. Mine was not water weight. Wish it would have been. Your young so it may not take as much effort for you as it did for me. Hope it goes well.

Yeah i have heard that you can get water weight which is hoping what i have, although its not looking like it since i did come off the steroids for a short time before and did not lose any weight just stayed the same like this time, And yeah ill just try doing more exercise with friends.

I gained 100lbs on the predisone. I lost all of it and more when I got off it recently. I was on it for 4 years. In the mean time, eat healthy, exercise, keep a diary of what you eat and drink. Drink plenty of water.
