Greetings all - my first post on the "Allergies & Asthma" forum - although as you can see from my signature I've been around the Prostate Cancer forum for the past 9 months or so. Good news so far on the PCa front so I'm thankful for that and am also now wanting to focus on my asthma issues.
Quick overview:
Asthma started in early teens. (Currently 55 years old)
Excellent health, weight training 4-6 days per week, also cardio 4-6 days per week, but only walking - not able to run due to breathing issues.
Up until the past couple of years was able to play competitive level sports including basketball.
Typically not bothered during "sedentary, normal day-to-day activities" unless triggered.
Seems to be "exercise induced?"
Currently taking Albuterol inhaler PRN, that does relieve symptoms - but does not allow me to partake in strenuous activity - basketball, running, etc.
Also taking Spiriva (not working) and tried Advair, also no effect.
Are there any new approaches to asthma care out there?
Thanks in advance!
