Hi everyone!
First a little history about myself...
Over the years I have been diagnosed with GERD, IBS, Gastritis, Hiatal Hernia, GAD, Panic Disorder, Tourette's Syndrome, Bi-Polar Disorder, OCD, Chronic Sinusitis, Allergic Rhinitis, Cervical Arthritis with bone spur at C-4/C-5 and a few others I can't think of at the moment. I've had tons of tests (even rare ones) and regularly see various specialists.
Anyway, about two weeks ago I was feeling pretty good and bouncing around here keeping busy, enjoying my hobbies, etc. We have had a serious fly problem lately (which I've since taken care of) and one day as I was cleaning a cage, I inhaled not one but TWO small flies. I gagged and coughed and for several days I could feel a heaviness/ache in my chest and especially when I'd take a deep breath. I worried about the flies I had inhaled for several days (ie; maggots hatching in my lungs, eating their way into various parts of my body, causing a disease, etc).
At some point I started to feel a bit better and the sensations in my chest were mostly gone and I got back to enjoying life again. Then, there were 4 different issues that came up that caused me a great deal of stress and I had a lot of anxiety and depression which lasted for about 4 days.
Then one night as I was sitting there in the chair I was having my usual head-jerking tics and at some point I could actually feel/hear the sensation of my brain bouncing around in my head. This scared me but since Tourettes is nothing new to me, I just put it out of my mind.
I have been on Keppra for awhile (as well as other meds) and took my usual dose that evening. I can usually feel it kick in and it makes me feel pretty good and it did this time as well. Later that night I sat down at the computer and had a lot of different things I wanted to get done (I'm a night owl) but as I started doing them, I began forgetting little things, clicking on the wrong keys or buttons, doing things backwards or in a disorganized way or forgetting certain steps, etc. A few times I got very angry because I couldn't seem to get anything right and I never get angry as a rule. My head also felt very wierd - like there was a lot of pressure in my head (especially in the front and behind my eyes). I felt like I had suddenly become dumb and/or had lost my mind and was going crazy, scatter-brained. My mental clarity and memory also seemed to diminish a bit. I'd do simple things over and over again but still couldn't seem to get them right. I started to panic thinking I was either dying or going insane.
Over the next few days I began to feel slightly better but still had this sinus-pressure type headache feeling in the front of my head and behind my eyes along with this loopy, "punch-drunk" feeling. The feeling in my lungs also came back. I also had a pain in the side of my head that seemed to somehow be related to my neck/shoulder muscle. I do have Tourettes, cervical arthritis and various sinus conditions so I'm wondering if any (or all) of these might be causing my recent issues. It's that sinus/head pressure, dazed, loopy, feeling that bothers me the most. Sort of like if someone plugged a air hose up to the front of your head and filled it full of air. That and random pains in my neck, etc.
Can anyone relate to any of this? Anyone have the same issues as myself and care to share a bit?. I'd love to hear from you and get some support or just hear your own story. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this!.
