I was just told I have asthma, can't breath good, wheeze, cough. I had it when I was a kid and maybe I suspected it. I feel terrible and the allergies have been bad in the Oregon valley so far this year. Went to the pharmacy to get an Advar (sp)inhaler and they did not have any, that was Friday I am in Tampa Florida now for three weeks and trying to get home pharmacy to transfer to a pharmacy here. This is just not making me feel better. Does anyone have any home remedies for now? Thanks

No home remedies. You need a rescue inhaler at a minimum. You also need to use a flow meter to see when you are constricted. A pharmacist should have one. Since you are new at this you should use your flow meter frequently so you can learn to understand how you're feeling vs. what your lungs are doing.

If you cannot transfer the prescription, you should go to an urgent clinic and talk to them about a 5-day burst course of steroids.

Take 1 tablespoon of honey and ½ tsp cinnamon powder and mix them well before consuming. This is an excellent home remedy for asthma.

I have found caffeinated coffee can help. Its not in lieu of an inhaler.

Like Unicorn said coffee can help and like Amandanelson said local honey not regular store named honey can help, but honey will only help if allergies cause your asthma, best thing is to see if your pharmacy can expedite your inhaler script, so keep on the pharmacy everyday, many well wishes.
