How long can it take for the effects of prednisone to wear off

I was on a prednisone schedule for about a week a few weeks ago, and my appetite increased and I gained 10 lbs. I've been on prednisone on and off all my life so I know how it works..... But I'm also unsure if it's the meds I take for my bipolar disorder that might be causing the increase in appetite.

I usually have virtually no appetite. So..... even if the half life of prednisone is just an hour, could this be an issue from the prednisone or what?

I gained weight when I was on it, actually I gained 80 lbs. My appetite never changed. I also got a moon face and hot flashes and real bad muscle cramps on it. The bright side is I ended up after getting off of prednisone losing 100 lbs. And all side effects went away. We are not doctors here so we can't determine which meds is doing it to you, so I'd suggest asking your doctor. Everyone is different, and handles meds differently
