Hey ya'll!
I joined here because I really need some help. I'm 27, a Masters student in Criminology getting ready to head into the first PhD program that accepts me, I'm Bipolar, have Borderline Personality Disorder and I have the wonderful gift of Asthma. I was diagnosed 5-7 years ago when I was asymptomatic and in the last 3 years was diagnosed again (by two separate doctors) because I worked at a dog daycare and was having trouble breathing but couldn't figure out why. Well, that was why. That summer I was very very sick, last year I had trouble with my asthma but got through it, this year it has been debilitating (interferes with functioning. I can't leave the house, and hardly my room) since July. It is now August 4th. Here's the lowdown for THIS summer:
-High/Moderate weed pollen
-High/moderate humidity
-High heat (although it's only about 75 here in Michigan today)
My asthma has been tight/cough/chest pain/can't-catch-my-breath etc. I'm not a wheezer for some reason and never have been. I'm trying to understand why it gets SO bad in July. I was able to be outside for May and June but as soon as July hit, it was over...and still is. Lately the only way I get relief is to sit still in my room with my air purifier. I do NOT take preventative meds, I refuse to take steroids. I do chiropractic care (although that has been spotty), holistic (e.g. essential oils, supplements, etc) and my albuterol never helps anymore as I have to have so much of it that it's not worth the $55-$60 I pay for it, so I drink coffee (which I have since 2005 anyway).
If anyone understands what's going on or you have any suggestions, please speak up! I am SICK and TIRED of suffering. I literally have been in my room 24/7 (for the most part. I have left the house a few times but no more than 10 and probably less than 7) coughing or hyperventilating for over a month. The urgent care doctors I see don't get it either...I can't have Prednisone d/t my Bipolar medication but I am 100% open to natural/homeopathic/etc remedies. THANKS so much!
