What's wrong?!

I’ve been having issues for a few months now…. Live in a polluted city and used to smoke. I stopped smoking at the start of this year, my lungs started getting sensitive to 2nd hand smoke at first (around May) with a tight chest the day after exposure also with a sore throat…. One day was particularly bad and I went to see a lung doc, I’ve been on anti inflammatories since, since then I’ve been developing a sensitivity to strong perfume too, it gives me a tight chest , this is the most noticeable thing….

Also I’ve had very mucusy lungs but the expectoant and antinflamms have taken care of that somewhat…..
Before I went on a recent trip I was getting mild runny nose but this quite easily could’ve been a small cold as I haven’t experienced this since.

Have been very worried about it…. Also if I walk outside as I live in a big city I get a tight chest from the air pollution but the following day, perfume effects me almost immediately…

Have never had anything like this before…. Worried….

It's so very good that you stopped smoking, so very good for you, too...But your lungs do still need time to heal from all that smoking. If this continues maybe get into an ENT doctor or a good asthma doctor.
I also agree with Couchtater/Joy a mask outside will help. Hope your doing better soon. Keep us posted.

either way it's treatable, both require medicines taken daily (usually inhalers), with the adult asthma or the copd you might get a break from taking medication. I had one doctor dx me with asthma and another with copd, so to me there's not much difference between the two, I will keep my fingers crossed for you in hopes this clears up for you.
I've had pneumonia in the past with good lung function tests, so I do not place much faith in those tests. I hope you get a good doctor and keep us posted on this. Also, start making a list of your symptoms and another list of questions to ask your doctor, that'll help you to remember better...and to make the most out of your appointment!
