Greetings, All. Thank You for adding me to this forum. I need advice, My husband went hunting Saturday and had a warm red area on his neck, assuming it was his binocular strap rubbing, ignored it. Then it started to itch and today he has raised blotches and very much itching. Poison Oak!! He is getting some areas on his arms and legs. It appears to be in his system now. Is it contagious? Will I get it? if so how? It has not really blistered, or any fluid has been seen, It is on the back of his neck and comes around both sides of his face and under his chin. He started his prednisone this morning at 40 mg and 20 mg at bed, for 3 days and then reduced on a schedule...I need to know about contagiousness, touching, or hugging, etc. I used to be highly allergic as a child got it every year at camp, and had shots, but barely remember now. I don't know what to do. avoid him? sleep alone? I have day surgery Thursday and am worried about getting it in my system. ANY help very much needed and appreciated, Lollypop
