Hello! I've been having what appears to be allergic reactions to certain products in different food groups (which makes it difficult to pinpoint the possible allergy.) I break out in hives and feel my throat tightening, along with some wicked nasal congestion. There are times when it feels like it's going to close up, and it usually stays that way for days and even weeks if I don't watch what I'm eating. The problem is that I've been to the ER quite a few times, but they refuse to treat me for allergies because my lips/tongue/eyes are not also swollen.
I had been checked out by an ENT on a day that I felt absolutely no tightness or congestion, about two weeks after my first attack. He didn't see anything.
My question is: Is it possible to have swelling that only affects your throat/nose and skin?
Thanks in advance! I really appreciate it because this undiagnosed allergy/anxiety/reflux is ruining my life.
