Dear Everyone,
I have searched the internet for people who suffer from the same as myself, and I have not yet found any posts at all. I am getting desperate, and I really hope that someone has had the same symptoms as me (and maybe so people in the future with the same symptoms know that they are not alone.)
Every time I eat hot foods (soup is the worst trigger) my lips become bright red, and I look like an allergic reaction. The skin on the borders of my lips get a little red as well. This can also happen if I eat food that require a lot of chewing, like almonds. Sometimes the outer 'rim' of my lips become red when I smile. My lips used to be mildly swollen at all times, which hurt. But I am on Telfast and Xolair, which help the swelling but not the redness.
The derm tells me I have hives on my lips that are induced by heat, but as I said, the 'attacks' also appear when I smile or eat a lot of cold, chewable foods.
Has anyone, anyone at all, had this? It is very difficult to be mid-twenties with anxiety to eat around others. Or even kiss or smile at times.
Thank you very much for reading this.
Have a great day!
