Asthma/ short of breath

Hello name is Tracy I'm 32 and have asthma. The past couple weeks I have been more short of breath then normal. I went to my doctor and they said probably air quality and put me on prednisone and sudafed for my nose being inflamed. I also notice tightness in my chest and when I stretch back it kind of gets a sharp pain. The doctor said its all normal when I feel this way to get fast heart rate and tight but I'm just uneasy about it all. Anyone have this experience ??

Oh and the prednisone is 20 mg 2 times a day not helping my breathing just making me anxious and feel weird.

Hello Tracy!

I didn't experience this yet, but I can assure you that what your doctor is saying is correct.
I think you should listen to your doctor if he/she provided you any tips about this, and maybe you could soften your asthma with inhalers if you're not using this yet. The symptoms of what you are getting now are normal. It's best for you to take enough rest and ask your doctor what to do if the symptoms are bothering you.

I look up my symptoms online and it says blood clot in lungs or heart attack:( scared the crap out of me

Have you experienced the symptoms you have searched online? If you did, does your doctor know about this?

Tracy, don't listen to Dr. Google. You'll just panic.

This year in my area PA, we had an unusual amount of rain in the spring. Consequently, we have more than the usual crop of weeds, and grass, and pollen, and mold spores. Now we're having few weeks of less than normal rain, so we're having more dust.

I've been free of allergy symptoms since starting the shots years go. That is, until this year! Suddenly I'm having all the itchy mouth, ears, throat. I saw my allergist, but all she did was prescribe ear drops. I'd already started taking loratidine OTC in the morning and Benadryl at night.

So, listen to your real doctor. We're having a bad summer.

And, PS: we're not doctors on this forum, or most every other forum either, so we don't know much and can't really diagnose or treat anyone. But, good luck!
