If you have a strange breathing problem no one can figure out, the problem could be a weak diaphragm caused by low thyroid hormone.
Have you had your thyroid checked? Most doctors use TSH to diagnose thyroid problems, but the thinking on using TSH for diagnostics is being questioned now: https://www.nahypothyroidism.org/how-accurate-is-tsh-testing/ Many doctors now do a full panel (T4 and T3).
Many things in your diet can affect the thyroid. Be careful of consuming too much of these: raw cruciferous vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower), soy products, and green or black tea. And make sure you are getting iodine somewhere in your diet (seafood, or supplement).
Now you have an excuse not to eat your broccoli. :)
