Does anyone suffer from Rhinitis, either the allergic type or the other type (I think vascular?) I can't breathe because my nose is so dry inside in the winter months. I can't sleep either. It is horrible, like you are suffocating. I also have sleep apnea, most likely due to this. I can't use my CPAP machine in the winter, as it dries me out more. I think it is either caused by the weather conditions when it become dry and cold, or by indoor allergies. I feel mine is caused by the dryness in my home in the winter months, but I don't know that for sure, but it is annoying. I wash my bedding a lot in case it is dust mites, including my duvet and its cover.
My symptoms are more prevalent in the winter, maybe because the heat dries out the house? I purchased a diffuser. A diffuser blows cold moist air, versus a vaporizer which blows warm moist air. I heard that cold air vapor is supposed to be better for you. I bought ones which hold 500 ml, so I didn't have to constantly refill it. I bought one for my bedroom, and one in the Living room. Amazon had them cheap-with free shipping and next day delivery. I feel they have helped.
Secondly, I tried all of those nasal sprays, they dry me out more. I tried the steroid type, it worked for a few hours, then I finally turned to a nasal spray which has 100% natural sesame seed oil. I use this spray three times a day, and it helps with my dry nose. I also, drink lots of water, and try to avoid alcohol, minimize my caffeine intake, and avoid medications like ibuprofen, as they all act to dry me out more.
I hate this, does anyone have any other suggestions? A way to get rid of this once and for all?
