I am a chronic Asthmatic on Bricanyl and Seretide with Prednisone use and Ventolin/Atrovent nebuliser when I get real bad.
about a month back I had some sushi and my tongue felt real big and throat went red(Dr said it looked scratched) and I felt very weak.
I went to hospital overnight. I did not need oxygen or anything like that, but it was very scary as with the Asthma I thought I might go into anaphylactic shock.
I do suffer from anxiety and panic attacks aswell, which didn't really help.
Anyway, I can't get in to an allergy specialist until April. I knew I might be allergic to prawns but thought other sushi was ok for me-maybe it's not.
The thing is, ever since this reaction I have felt lousy. Tongue/throat itchy and burny at times. I feel weird after patting the dogs and I am not allergic to dogs ever as far as I know and also, I feel odd after eating foods I have never had a problem with before.
I have always suspected I have food intolerance in regards to wheat and gluten and eggs and chicken and stuff, but now I feel like even after some "normal" foods like poached eggs on toast or tinned spaghetti-I feel weird. One time it got so bad I went to the Dr only to be told-slight fever but no drop in blood pressure. To them my tongue and throat didn't look too bad.
I am not making this up-but could my anxiety be making me FEEL like I am having another allergy attack? I don't want to eat anything and feel like now I can't eat until April. I know it sounds silly but I just don't know what to do.
I am worried now that coffee also is making me feel funny. Like in the throat. Could it be anything else? Could it be my Seretide or something like a post-nasal drip? Or could it be anxiety? I get so worried I don't know if I will eat something and go into anaphylactic shock.
I am trying to be brave but...I don't wanna die!!! Please help what should I do? I am really worried here.
I also ate a Red Rooster chicken roll and a few chips the other day and didn't seem to have a reaction to it, so not sure if maybe I should force myself to eat or not. I mean, is it better to eat and have mild throat irritation until April than to not eat at all?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thankyou and God Bless you all I Pray you are all healed aswell very soon!
