Total IgE Elevated

Hello, I just got back the results of my allergy blood test. It says I may be allergic to dogs, cats, dust mites and two grasses. I am concerned because it also says my total IgE is elevated it says normal is <100 kU/L but mine is 464 kU/L. What could this mean?

I also have two dogs that i have had for a while now so I am not concerned with the dog allergy, but could daily exposure to an allergen cause the IgE to be elevated?

I could not get the skin test since my doctor tested my skin with a wooden stick and it caused a reaction at the scratch sites. She said it was skin writing so I am at higher risk of getting a major reaction if I did the skin test.
