Alternative for steroids to treat bronchitis, eosinophilic inflamation

Hello,

My father is having chronic cough with a small elevation on eosinophils in blood, so i think it must be eosinophilic bronchitis. All the treatment guidelines i found is to use systemic and inhaled steroids. I want to spare my father of the possible high risks for bone and heart of this horrible drugs. Making this post in the hope that someone had some alternative in treating bronchitis without these drugs.
