Allergic to medicines

Anybody else??? I have had some strange reactions particularly to antibiotics.    Luckily my primarily care doc is good and so is my new allergist.  I am sick of asthma...feel it has slowed me down.  It is kind of scarey to try new medicines.

 

Yes...it is kind of scarey but sometimes it works out well...I have reacted very well to mobic which is an arthritis medicine. I am so grateful about that much.

I am allergic to multi drugs and my doctor said that is even more troubling than my allergies were. If I have a virus I am very tired but the pain of arthritis also makes me tired. I have post shingles pain now and that is a bummer.

I am taking lyrica which at 200 mgs was making me dizzy. I usually take 75 mgs of lyrica at night and am using the lidocain patch. I can not handle other patches because I have IBS w/constipation. The darvon pills also make me constipated.

I'm allergic to painkillers, which is a real bummer. Anything stronger than paracetamol (acetaminophen) makes me itch and get numb lips, etc. Once i nearly died from a morphine injection following surgery. I went into anaphylactic shock but fortunately i was in intensive care at the time and was able to get an injection of ephedrine straightaway. I can never have morphine or other narcotics and even fentanyl makes me itch, although it's the one that's meant to be safe for everyone.

Dunno what i'll do if i ever have a nasty accident and am in a lot of pain.

I find it interesting of all these meds. many asthmatics are allergic to. Well, I did not know I had any drug allergies until I got sick with pneumonia, which made thea asthma worse. I was so bad, my allergist put me on 40mg of Prednisone and 400mg of Avelox. She could not give me generic because it was not strong enough, so I ended up having an reaction to the Avelox, which made me itch all over my whole body for a week or so. I was going crazy! When I stopped taking the Avelox the itching cleared up in like two days, I was SO relieved!!!
