well, actually I am in Alaska lived there 10 years, miss it SOOOO much, want to return but now isnt a time I can. But our gas is actually higher here in the Pacific Northwest Washington than where were we use to live there in Alaska.. The problem I have however is my knee isnt healing at all and now the arthritist is afting my right arm too. Driving with a stick shift is making me miserable. So this month I cant drive up there and will have to pay the extra 70 dollars. It cost about 40 round trip I figured in the lunch as we always eat there when we go. LOLOLOL so really only about 30 dollar difference. My knee is way worth that right now I cant hardly bend it I sit with it propted most of the time these days. Hubby feels so bad and I try not to let on. I want to protect him BUT I also dont want to shut him out I am I doing good Snowy?

Gas here is 2.16 a gallon In Texas.

gas here is 2.75 a gal. BUT if you get a 10 cent discount it is 2.65 at the Safeway store. HEY my friends I just got the break of the century our home owned pharmacy said since I was paying cash she matched the lowest on her comeputer. I saved 75.00 by shopping local can you believe it so happy!!!! Chil

No I was in Alaska but now the Pacific Northwest. Moved here 4.5 years ago to take care of my dad then Larry was diagnosed with Alz. Now to move back isnt possible. So anyways the price here is 2.75 unless you spend 50.00 at safeways and then you get 10 cents off. How is every one doing? I need some coffee and maybe I will lose this headache.....Chil

I was born here in 1963, lived all my life but the 12 years in Alaska I love this place but I truly miss Alaska too. My husband was born in Wisconsin and moved here in 1965. He has also lived off and on in Alaska. We went the in 86 and 88 to live in southeast so he could work in the logging industry there. In 1993 we went back and bought raw land and built from scratch as the the old home steaders did, we home schooled our children had a 10 acer farm and loved it very much. But things they change and here we are in the green northwest. It could be worse lolol Chill

:-)  Yes it is very good to have medical insurance. We currently qualify for nothing here. Larry wont get medicare until he is disabled 27 months and the state stuff we make to much money. What a joke....Anyhow glad all is well say what is gas running a liter up there in your area. I havent been through Cananda for 4 .5 years I think it is soooo beautiful. Chill

I have had an IV in again for a week and not been up to par but I am glad to see you still posting and sharing
I hear that Alaska in under the snow from Freezin
We are in for heavy snow today usually have it way befor now but nature is so screwed up by everything ya know ..........

I hope you are doing better. It is in the forcast for here. The loonies aroound here cant drive in it so I will be making my grocery run today. We have the gas for our generator just incase we lose power too. truck topped off and then we are set. Will talk later Chill

Yes am doing better but still have IV in prolly for a few more days
Pain in the gasket having it in not to mention my arm lol
Ya I hear ya ppl here still dont know how to drive in it and we have bad winters every yr
Ya would think they would learn I am out to do my groceries sometime today as well
Great that you get it all ready and stuff together in case of emergency

  Hay Chilkoot, it's good to see that you are getting to know everyone here, yea we been getting the snow allright and the sub-zero cold but it's all good I sent it all to Lyn so that she can injoy it lol

We got into the minus 19 wind chill by early last night I am sitting here freezing my keister off now lol......

I think bad drivers are everywhere lol today is my 44th birthday and God saw fit to give me a little snow. I really love it when it first comes down and everything looks so clean and fresh. I am thinking the gas is not that much higher than when I was there 4.5 years ago. I just love it up there so much one of our hopes is to take a little drip this summer. BUT I guess now we need passports too. That is SOOOOOO stupid to me but then again who I am...Chill

I know it is silly isnt it one of the young woman ( adopted daughter) on anxiety forum just visited us here for a few days and it was so great to meet her finally in person but she had to have pasport( never out of states)
It might be okay if its under a certain amount of yrs I thought it was 5 .....not sure and then u are able to quickly just renew w/o all the bull I hope so
Let me know if you are ever coming this way I would love to meet up with you and we can swap stories and have a brew of tea or whatever your beverage of Choice is lol

Ok I will at some point come see you but what part I have been from the Montana boarder to the yukon territory as well as British Columbia too. We once brought a bus from Penn. to Alsaska for a friend and that was the first time I was in Calgery it was so wonderful. That was the day I learned repect for my husbands abilities. We got turned around with a full size bus and he turned it around where personally I would called my friend and said the keys are in it pick it up lololol Anyhow the yukon territory is so beautiful too. I read alot of Janett Oake books. My favorite or the ones about the Canadian Mounty in the late 1800's to the early 1900's I would have loved to have lived then abd there... I am in Ontario hun I live about 3 hours from Toronto Ontario and 1 and a half from Detroit border......
I would have had someone turn dang bus around too
