General Anesthesia for the mentally impared

Being able to communicate is very important. Unfortunately my mom is no longer in that stage of life so everything IS a guessing game now. She can't even get a mamogram because she won't stay put and follow directions much like the MRI too.

Yesterday I bought some liquid B-12 hoping it will give her some energy. I'm having her wear a diaper today to the senior center just in case she gets some hyper reaction and loses control.

I had her wear a plastic underwear over her diaper last night and she still leaked though. I just don't know what to do???

As it is I'm already up 2times a night getting her to the bathroom but each time she's already peed in the diaper but still has more to give. She's sound asleep at night so getting her up every 2 hours is not good for her or me for that matter.

You must have been very strong. I can't even scoot her in her bed more to avoid her falling out from the sides. Even if I could that would wake her. I also have to work in the morning so getting up two times is my limit before I become a zombie at work. Also, my mom wears the pull ups, not the regular diapers.

I have severe scoliosis and all this lifting and pulling has made my back pain worse. My left leg is about an inch and a half shorter than my right so now I have stabbing pains on my left leg whenever I stand for more than 3 minutes because I'm pulling my hamstring I guess.

It's just easier for me to drag my mom to the bathroom then it would be for me to change her in bed.

Carpal Tunnel huh. You need to find a way to type without your fingers. haha

Snowy, if you don't mind me asking, how old are you?

As for typing without fingers, they make a computer program that types what you say but it's rather expensive.

Being a nurse prepared you for your illness and gave you the knowledge to know what you're told is truth or bull.

My mom was always intimidated by doctors. Her previous neurologist made her go cold turkey on Mirapex when my mom asked him if she was on too many drugs. She was only on 2 at the time. I warned her she will go through hell if she stopped it just like that but she only would listen to her doctor. Sure enough a week later my mom was going through major withdrawals shaking and crying. I called her doctor and chewed him out. I asked him what he said to her and he became very defensive and told me to ask my mom and hung up on me.

I may not have the time or resources to get him removed as a doctor but he is getting old so all I can do is wish him bad health in his later years. karma!
