GOOD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!

It's been a few weeks since I wrote.  I'm EMPLOYED.  Remember my transcription job was being eliminated.  Well, the weekend prior to the day I was supposed to get my 60 day notice, one of the file clerks up and just quit.  I got her job.  I was with the Director of the department when she found this other employee's badge with a note saying "I Quit".  The Director turned to me and we were both stunned but the Director immediately said to me "God opened that door".  I took the job and have been busy learning it.  It's the right hours and still at the hospital so I keep all my benefits and my vacation time and stuff.  Just a different job.  The only downer is I have to be up at 3:45 A.M. (yes that's the middle of the night to me) as I have to be at work by 5 am.  The only other downer is my pay is decreasing so I will have to somehow make up the extra money each month to pay the bills.  I've been spending all my spare time looking for something part-time afternoons.  We'll see.  But, I had to share my good news.  My anxiety has been a lot higher as the pressure is on (me putting it on myself I should say) to do the job perfect even though I am still learning.  I've discovered I'm way too hard on myself.  Which is a symptom of anxiety as well.  My doctor upped my Xanax to 4 a day.

Hooray for you Ocean That is wonderful news, but with it also comes with the stress of a new postion aarghh! God never closes a door without opening a new one full of challenges! I'm really, really happy that things have worked out (as they well should) for you.

Try not to be too much of a perfectionist, you only just got the job, give yourself permission to make a few mistakes (we all do - it's called human!!) and take all the feedback you can get.  I know a new position/job is one of THE WORST stressors for us so keep that in mind and be gentle with yourself.

I'm glad you are talking to doc and adjusting meds to help..that's great..I wish you all my heartfelt best Ocean, keep us posted and know that we are here to support you. Hooray!!

Around every corner in life, there is opportunity.  The old saying, that when the door shuts closed, the window blows wide open.  Until the last few days, I bet you really didn't believe in that old saying................ Congratulations to you...................yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaa..
