Tingling head

Hi to all. My name is Cari, I'm 39.  I came across this forum through a Google search, as many others have.  I, too, have been troubled by my "tingling head" and various other symptoms.  Like many of you, I have anxiety and panic attacks, have been to my Dr. & ER many times, trying to figure out what is wrong w/ me.  In fact, I have an apt. w/ my Dr. this afternoon.  Besides the tingling in my head, I have headaches, neckaches, backaches, upset stomach, and ringing (tinnitus?) in my head as well.  Very irritating and bothersome.  I cannot relax and have a very hard time sleeping.  Reading about what you all have been going through has been somewhat reassuring to me, knowing that others have experienced what I am currently going through.  My boyfriend of 12 years thinks I'm losing my mind and says he doesn't know how much of this "sickness" he can take...Shoot, gotta go, I'm @ work & have to do some work for my boss.  I'll write more later.  I look forward to corresponding w/ u all. Welcome CariAnne and thanks for sharing about yourself.  I didn't know anyone else got tinnitus from their anxiety and PA!  I thought I was just imagining that one..

Thank you to all who replied to me. I've been having a really hard time lately and no one around me can really understand. So, it's comforting to hear from people who are going through the same things. In addition to the anxiety and tingling sensations, I have a variety of other things going on...I'll just touch on those because I think they're for another forum. For example, I have something going on w/ my stomach...lots of pain and irregular bowel movements. My doctor kept on telling me this was due to my anxiety until one night I went to the ER because I was in serious pain. They told me I have a large cyst in my liver....but didn't think the pain was due to the cyst. They even told me it may be of a parasitic origin..which completely freaked me out. So, I've had lots of tests, all of which came back negative. I can't help wondering if this is all connected. Regardless, I've been having panic attacks, thinking I'm going to keel over. I feel awful all the time; my symptoms have been ongoing for about 2 months, give or take, and no one seems to be able to tell me what's wrong. Everything aches. Can stress do all this to a person?? Am I losing my mind? These are questions I keep asking myself. I pray to God for help. I have a 14 year old daughter and I try not to let her see me in this condition, but I know she's worried about me and that makes me feel guilty. I don't want to stress her out, but trying to act like I feel normal is rather difficult. I can't sleep at night and when I'm awake all I can hear is the ringing and all I can feel is the tingling and shooting/stabbing pains in my head and throughout my body. I went to my Dr's. yesterday afternoon and all she did was prescribe me more Lexapro. I hate taking antidepressents and have been rather defiant in that regard up until now, but I think I might give them a go to see if they help; I'm one of those people that hates taking pills. I've been researching herbal remedies online and there are lots of suggestions about what to take for this & that, but I still don't know a whole lot, so I'm apprehensive about those too. Maybe I should go see an herbal specialist. I don't know. I'm so frustrated. :-( Thank you for listenting and sorry for ramblin so long. Glad I found this forum. Being able to vent to someone is somewhat therapeutic. I'll definately keep coming back. Thanks again.

Thank you, CaryF! I started the Lexapro last night & will continue in the hopes that some (if not all)symptoms will go away. When you said that you have similar symptoms, are you referring to the tingling, ringing & anxiety, or the stomach problems, or both?? I look forward to hearing back from you.

Thank you, Kit.  I really appreciate your kind words!  You're right, being able to "bare my soul" has already been comforting.  I'll try to be patient but, as I'm sure you've heard a million times, it's difficult because I want answers to what "ails" me NOW, because I've already been dealing with these "issues" for longer than I'd like to!  Again, thank you!

Thank you Meg. I appreciate your kind words. My stomach is still messed up, though, and I had a rough night last night; I didn't get much sleep....Weird pains in my head..again. It feels like it's a little "swollen" on the side that I get the pains on (right side)...don't know if I'm just imaging this. Also, my neck has been spasming on the left side, and my eye keeps twitching. Plus, I'm still getting chest pains. Ever experienced any of that??? I'm a wreck and can't help but think something is seriously wrong w/ me.I want to go to the ER, but have been refraining myself, thinking that it's just my anxiety. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any input?? It'd be much appreciated.

I think most of us here at A/P get that tingling head thing. Also swimmy eyes and stuff. Lot of weird symptoms from the monster of Anxiety. I dont know how to stop it, but mine ususally comes and goes. Are you on any meds for anxiety? Keep posting and tell us more about yourself. We are family here and we really love and support eachother. Welcome to HW, you'll feel like your at home very soon. More members should be along later and should have better advice. Love to you!!!

Welcome! I hope you'll find some support and comfort through this wonderful site.

I am a poster child for the "get checked out physically first and then tackle anxiety" approach. Yes, I have anxiety, pretty badly sometimes, but a couple of my physical symptoms had been chalked up to it for 2-3 years when they were something else very treatable. It was such a relief to find that I didn't have to worry about all the dreadful obscure diseases I thought I must really have.

Now that I feel better, I can fight that nasty demon anxiety with some more *umph*! Usually ... :)
