hi guys. I don't know if this is allowed...I don't think it's bad, but if it's against the rules somehow feel free to delete mods.

I'm not doing very well at the moment. I posted a huge post in the bipolar room just now and I was wondering if you guys could go read it and possibly offer some support. I could just copy and paste it here too, but I don't want to be like spamming the board with duplicate posts, you know? that's all I really wanted. the bipolar forum has been pretty dead as of late so I don't know if I'll get many replies and I really need some support. cry

thank you to anyone who takes the time to go over and read my post. sorry again if this one is against the rules for whatever reason.

Are you having blood in your bowel movements? If you arent then it probably isnt ulcerative colitis but could be chrons or celiac. There was a time when the DR thought I had ulcerative colitis and gave me tons of meds to try. None of them worked. I finally did an "unconventional" stool test thru enterolabs.com and they dx'd me with having both of the necessary genes that produce celiac disease; however, all the tests the DRs gave me came back negative (colonoscopy and biopsies). Anyways the Dr at enterolab told me my results that he found and recommended I go gluten and dairy free. i did and 2 months later I felt like a new person. The diet is hard but is soooo worth it if it helps you out.

The diet could also help with depression, acid reflux, anxiety, and other like disease or ailments. I know this is another thing to think of but if your tests all come back negative or the DR says "I really dont know what you have but I think it is ..." then you might want to look into the diet. Feel free to message me or just respond to the post if you have any questions.

terps19...yes I do have blood in bowel movements from time to time. every time I'm checked though they can't find the cause...no hemmorroids. had a colonoscopy and they found nothing. so now I wait for more tests. thanks for your post.

Read your post! Sending loads of hugs your way. Could you try to find some help from alternative sources? Some cities have regional transportation programs to bring people to doctor's appointments. Some colleges have volunteers that would help with that too. Do you have your license? Could you drive you b/f to work and then use his car for the day and then pick him up?

Odd everything is normal thru the tests but obviously it is not.

Sorry to get descriptive (you dont have to answer) but is the blood more bright red or is it a darker more maroon color?  Bright red means you just have a cut somewhere around that area- they call them fissures- I have one that comes and goes- if it is more of a dark red it means you are bleeding somewhere in your digestive tract- usually ulcers in your large intestine or stomach.  A lot of people who have colitis use probiotics (good bacteria) which seems to help-

I hope you find relief soon.

thanks again guys...I'm not up for posting much at the moment. I'm just getting worse as the night goes on.

real quick though...terps19...it really depends on the day. sometimes it's bright red and a lot...like so much you can't even see through the water. I've had stool samples, regular rectal exams, and the colonoscopy and blood work.

I don't have any experience with the things you're describing here and in your other thread, but you do have so much on your plate right now. I'll be sending out positive thoughts for some solutions to turn up. I hope some of the others' suggestions are worthwhile for you.

Go get some rest; at least that will increase the energy you have to face the new day.

Closure, I know nothing of relationships, so have very little to offer there. I can't image how family can turn it's back on family, foreign concept to me. I know how hard it is to be a caregiver. You need to find as much help as you can, call the local churches, community centers, senior centers (age doesn't matter), 211. Even if your can't find transportation out in the boonies, you might find a respite service or in home health care. It's not easy and it takes forever to find what you need, I know, I been there -- just don't give up.

I'll pray for you, your father and especially your boyfriend, he's a good man.

thanks again for the support guys. you have no clue how much it means to me right now. I feel very alone most of the time with all of this so seeing your responses makes me feel a little less alone. *hugs*

updated my thread in the bipolar room. was meant to be brief, but it's a little longer than expected and the sad part is it only covered 2 things out of my day. I was gone from about 12:30pm-7pm. not a good time. my poor boyfriend was sitting in the car almost all day waiting for me at different places.

What a nice guy you have, driving you and waiting.  My hubby will drive me but he would never wait that long.
