i hate hot weather, in louisiana there is no cooling off outside, i still wish i could move up north in not to cold area away from hurricanes, but cooler weather just makes me feel so good, its easier to breather no humidity, i just want to be outside smilewinkgrin

OK you 2, I am in Minnesota, they call me Nook of the North.  I need snow shoes and heated mittens.  I have heated seats in my car or my behind would freeze to the seats....

I'm from Michigan, and the weather here is very odd. Two weeks ago it was high seventies, low eighties. Then last week it got a lot cooler in the beginning of the week, like fifties and sixties. Now it's back to the seventies. It's very odd.

I like colder weather too though. With colder weather, it's pretty easy to get warm. Just put on a few sweaters or hoodies or get a blanket and you're good. Hotter weather you can't do that. And if the power's out and you're not near a lake or pool then you're in trouble. Plus about colder weather, I love snow :) I'm definitely a winter person.

I too dislike hot weather. In fact, I think I have sort of a reverse seasonal affective disorder in that I am simply miserable in August, even to the point of my depression and anxiety being worse.  This year, Kansas had an unusually mild summer so I didn't suffer.  But I still love autumn, my favorite time of the year.  I think it's because it's my birthday and I loved going back to school as a child, both coming in the fall.

Central Coast of California here - we were in the 90's most of last week and it finally started cooling

down yesterday.  Sunny, breezy and cool.  My favorite time of the year!  (Of the 2 seasons we get,

anyways - lol)

Well, I live 2 miles from Pismo Beach and our annual "Clam Festival" is coming up!

Odd, though, we call ourselves the "clam capital of the world" and yet they are now

having to bury clams so people can clam.  I remember claming when we were kids

(and there were still Pismo clams!  lol)

Come on over, the weather's fine!  yeah

Thanks and from there I can scoot up the coast to Oregon to visit my son and family in Newport, OR. I love the ocean. :)

Kitt - I'm not sure what happens in the upper, but in the lower, at least the area where I'm at in Michigan, the weather's all weird. I completely forgot about the upper though...it's gotta be freezing up there in the winter.

The bridge scares me :( I don't like crossing it.

Hey there, I have crossed that bridge in a snowstorm with  high winds.  You can feel the bridge move I swear.  I prayed the whole five miles.  open grid bridge always scare me to drive accross. blush

it does remind you of starting school, when it gets cooler everything smells so good outside, you remember your younger years and i just think it over all makes you feel good. smilewinkgrin

I'm the same way concerning "reverse seasonal affected disorder" or whatever it's called. In the Summer it's so brutally hot and humid here that it's just draining. Even at night it never cools off, and I guess it doesn't help that I live in Downtown Dallas. Concrete for miles, keeping the temperature from going below 85 degrees for weeks and weeks on end in the summer (according to my building's weather thing, at least).

We're still above normal here, well above 80 in the day and sometimes over 90, but that's easily bearable compared to 100+ with humidity. The nights have been nice even after the warmer days. Low seventies in these parts is jacket weather when it first hits, haha. Some of the outlying suburbs have already gotten into the 40's a couple times this fall.

But anyway, after work and on weekends I'm basically a shut in during the summers. With the pollution, heat, and humidity it's just miserable (to me). In the fall and winter (we don't really have a true winter but you know) I finally come alive. It's funny to gain weight in the summer and lose it during the holidays, haha. Probably not uncommon around here, though.

I really miss living in California and Virgina. In Virginia it could get pretty cold (it's no Minnesota, I know, but for a Texas guy it gets cold there, ok) and I loved it. In California it would get really hot, but it was dry, and if you wanted cooler weather you could just go to the beach. I don't know if all of CA is that way, but LA was. I lived in Alhambra where it would get pretty warm, but in Santa Monica it would always be a lot cooler. And the nights were always cool even, it seemed to me. I remember my first trip out there to visit a friend. It was 104 degrees at the airport when we took off, and 65 when we landed a few hours later in LA. That was awesome.

But back on point, I know being bottled up is bad for my anxiety, and I'm sure it is for others as well. Even though I'm inside right now, I COULD go out and be comfortable and just knowing that is enough. I guess it's different for agoraphobics, though.
