I'm kind of wondering if this Zoloft has set off my IBD? The joint pain and low grade fever has been companied with about 12 BM today. Could be suffering a little anemia by the color of my stool. I'm definitely not feeling up to snuff. Should make going out tomorrow even more interesting.

Zoloft does not seem to be doing anything for the panic and flashbacks. Woke up shaking a couple times last night, woke up to the phantom phone call the night before. I feel real shaky today.

Hello there my friend.

I am concerned that you feel you may be a little anemic.  You should check in with your physician and perhaps get a lab drawn.

As far as the Zoloft, I do not have an answer for how that would affect your IBD, sorry.

Anemia isn't that bad, the little cracks at the corners of my mouth haven't shown up yet. I just feeling run down.

Buddha,

It can take up to six weeks before the zoloft starts taking effect. The anxiety et al may get a lttle bit worse before it gets better. Well that was negative wasn't it?! It does get easier, and if it doesn't then there are other options.

I think Kitt is on the mark with getting a blood test. Take care, and avoid sharp objects my friend!

I've been waiting for this announcement since last year, before mother went into the hospitals [little flashback there, great way to start a day]:

When I saw their announcement of a 12 year light source last year the first thing I thought was paint a solar cell. Guess they got around to doing just that. There's no reason this technology couldn't replace the batteries we use every day. The new thin film solar cells can be rolled up, AA battery with a 20 year life span anyone?

This is the sort of news that once excited me, maybe one of these days it will again.

Usually I would go to mother and go "I told you so" but can't do that now. It's really upsetting me today. Can't stop shaking ... is this excite enough? :-)

Hi Buddha,
The good folks on here have already given you practical advice(see your Dr if you think you're getting anaemic,give the Zoloft a good chance to work),so all I have to send is good wishes and hopes for your physical and mental healing.Wish I could talk to you in person----you set off my nurse instincts I guess.It makes a person feel a bit powerless when they're on the other side of the globe.Is music bringing you any joy at the moment?
I look forward to hearing things are improving for you----you seem to keep going,and even helping others,you have a wry sense of humour too,which has maybe kept you going----I can relate to that,as very dark humour has helped me and my husband to carry on,even through the worst of my illness.
The bizarre things we laugh at....
Anyway,I hope to hear better news of you soon."Wake up! Grab a brush,put on a little make-up! Hide yourself to fade away the shake-up!" etc,etc.

Hope all goes well with the doctor Buddha, please let him know if you are still feeling that agression from the zoloft.  It must be tough not being able to talk to you mother about this, but maybe you can shake your head at the heavens and whisper "I told you so! anyway. I'm sure it will make her laugh.

Hi Meg,

Well I survived my doctor visit. I have a problem with the clinic exam rooms which are always neat and tidy. I got stuck in an exam room with an exam table that looked like it was out of the middle ages all it need was some shackles. There were not one but two IV's! The rest of the room was taken up by test equipment and a supply rack. It was a mess. I was shaking like a leaf and count to three which was as far as I could get before losing count. After sitting there 15 minutes by myself the doctor finally showed up. I did ok though.

Anyway he thinks it's my back too. He's sending me for a ultrasound though.

I got a letter from SSA, they think I may be nuts so I'm getting a mental exam on Nov 3rd.

Congrats on surviving. I would be a mess if I was left in an archaic torture chamber for 15 mins too! That ultrasound sounds (ah funny) like a good idea, best of all they don't hurt.

Nov 3rd is really close..is that good? Are you feeling confident about it? Let us know how you are travelling okay. We care about you my friend.

I guess I must be telepathic! I'm very glad to hear how you coped with your Dr visit---those cubicles can feel very lonely places,while you're sitting waiting for a Dr,surrounded by bits of creepy looking equipment.I've seen this both as a patient and a nurse---as a nurse,you try to reassure the patient as best you can,but when it's yourself,alone,well-a different matter entirely.And of course,you have your experience with your mother,to add to the anxiety and stress.You have cojones,my friend.I hope the ultrasound will show something treatable,so you could be free from some physical pain at least.
Not being from your part of the world,who are the SSA,and what can they do for you? Will something positive happen for you if they decide you are "nuts"?I hope you aren't getting in a terrible anxiety state about your appointment(it makes me think of someone I know,who always got anxious about what he called "looming gigs")---at least it isn't long to wait.And you know there's always someone here to talk to if you feel the need.
I'm doing better----don't wake up terrified,starting to think the darkness is lifting....fingers crossed...still some bad days,but maybe some mental health returning.Christmas is always a tricky time for me,so I'm a bit wary of looking too far ahead....family conflicts etc.
Keep on keepin' on------I'm still enjoying your playlists,and lots of other music now.And I can read again----when I'm really ill I just can't,and that's hard on someone who has more than 5000 books,and adding to them every birthday/Christmas.

Way to go my friend ! I know those exam rooms are like being in a box and your sure there must be a hidden camera somewhere.

Your ultrasound will be a walk in the park with lots of gel rubbed on your back so they can get good pictures..........remember to smile.

What kind of nut does SSA think you are.......a Pistachio, a grapenut or a Peanut...... idea   ? ? ? ? I am a coconut devil

Meg: I'm not confident about anything anymore which really bugs me. Yeah Nov 3rd is a little close.

Dysthymia: SSA = Social Security Administration. I have no idea what will happen either way. Yeah I'm pretty up tight about that appointment. I have lots of books too which I don't read anymore. I miss programming the most. I'm glade your feeling better.

Kitt: I could use a laugh be there in a second.

Hey Buddha,

At this appt just tell them the truth. If they think you're a nut then you are in great company. My friend Kitt the coconut will be quick to back you up that I am a honey roasted cashew.

Hi Meg, I wouldn't know how to do anything else but tell them the truth.

I'm up to a 100mg of Zoloft now. I think it's raising my BP? Since I'm having 6 to 12 BM a day, I guess it's not constipating me! Afraid to eat again, good for the diet eh? I'm turning on Chop Suey and crawling back in bed.

I'm late joining in, but I'd be happy to have you tell me "Told you so" about the solar cell paint. I heard about it a few days back and thought it was a really clever invention. It'll be interesting to see what kinds of ordinary uses it ends up being put to. I hear that you just apply the paint, attach two wires to current, and voila! ("Kids, don't try this at home.")

I don't intend to paint my bedroom with it any time soon, though.

Hi Kitt and Percycat,

Heart finally settled down about 4:30 this afternoon. Nothing like chest pain that won't go away. Joints are still bothering me, it's like colitis flare up without the 20+ BMs. It's been worse ... see I'm looking on the bright side. The cracks are starting at the corners of the mouth. I'll try to get a clinic appointment Wednesday for Thursday.

Actually since solar cells are DC they're pretty safe.

What I wouldnt give to be able to call mom or dad

Make sure you do go to appoinment with SSA
You miss it you will be turned down
At least here in Ontario I know you would

I'm not doing too well today. I still have the shakes and the heart is racing too. Joints hurt, just feel lousy. I didn't have anything to drink all day of course I've been in bed most of the time.
