I find that whole idea of "natural" to be nothing more than a marketing gimmick, in most cases. Many of these supplements are manufactured with a combination of ingredients, and are anything but "natural". Of course there are exceptions, like Aloe Vera leaves, for example. Further, supplements are very often lacking solid scientific studies to back their claims. Unfortunately, even in this day and age, we must still be on guard against "snake oil". I can well appreciate that some people support some supplements, it's their call, but anecdotal evidence isn't a strong enough recommendation for me to take them.
Im sorry, but how is Chamomile tea any different? it is a herbal, natural remedy-
nothing i suggested for you was a 'supplement'. i offered advice on a different form of herbal tea, which is what you were enquiring about
.
I hope you are able to find some relief and get a solid nights sleep, i know how hard that can be. but please also understand that i never suggested a supplement, or any such potion. Just tea- thats all.
MazI was agreeing with you about
checking with your physician before using any herbal remedies, and or supplements. You mentioned Valerian and St. John's Wort to me in another thread. As for the Camomile tea, my physician said whatever works for you, but he knew of no solid evidence showing that it works for everyone. Vendors often refer to things as natural, it's good for sales. Whether or not they are is of little consequence when it comes to whether or not they will work as advertised.
Camomile tea is no different in this respect, I was asking if anyone knew if it was effective. That was prior to talking with my physician about
it. :o)
