there should be a section to introduce yourselves,
anyway .. i have a couole of things on my mind.
i am very very shirt of breaht and have been for about a year, and i find it hard to swallow all the time. like i need to swallow lots of snot. but i dont have a cold !! , sorry for the graphics.
also, my chest aches, i do have asthma but its usually alrite. i am worried i have lung cancer or something, as i read symptoms like shortness of breath and finding it hard to swallow are all symptoms. i am a 23 year old male by the way. and genrally quite fit, altho a little overweight round the belly ( from beer !)
secondly, i have a sort of ' obsession' ( for want of a better word ) with checking things, i check my switches and plugs 3 or 4 times a night before bed, but not any old checking, i have to look at each one for around 5 seconds, and phsically rub my finger over the switch left and right , left and right , left and right , repeatedly, so i know it it definately pushed off and down . i do this with all my kitchen switches. next my cooker. i check all the knobs are off, and the little line on the knob, is in line with the line on the cooker, i have to look really closely for some time at this, spend around 5 seconds on each, making sure the lines match up and are straight ( they click into place BTW) i just cant stop it. i do it with the cooker switches aswll, rub my finger over them to make sure they are off , even tho they have a red light on the switch when its on , i still have to check.
and have to check the windows, and doors are shut and locked, and also all the doors in the flat, even the ones indoors have to be shut. im not sure why , i cant relax untill i have done so ..
after this i go to bed, and try not to think about it , but as soon as i do , i have to go check again.i think, ' nah, i did it propperly' but then, i question myself, and instead of laying in bed wondering and playing mind games, i just jump out of bed , run in the front room check the switches and check the cooker etc, then jump back into bed. usually do this around 2 - 3 times a night.
am i just being wise checkin a few times, and phsically pressing them down over and over to ' make sure ' or do i have a problem.. my mum said its learnt behaviour, and that becuase im used to checking them so much , i cant get out of it..
so advice on the obbsessive thing please , and the breathing , not being able to swallow thing also.
thanks for reading and your time , and i love the website.
