What were your dreams as a child?

I always wanted to be a nurse ever since I was a child. I have always loved working with the elderly and did start a nursing career in the geriatric field when I was younger, but sadly had to change career directions as I injured my neck and bad from lifting. But still love working with the elderly.

I've always wanted to be a writer, I'd sit out in the yard for hours with my notebook writing away.  I wanted to be a teacher too, but only went to school long enough to get to the preschool teaching level.  Of course wanted to be a mommy, which I am and have enjoyed every minute of.

The only dream I remember having is wanting to become a lawyer. I didn't do that. I didn't want to be a mom. Or rather, I just never felt I would have children. I did become a mom and it's the best thing that could have happened.

My biggest dream was to grow up, go to college, and get away from the family drama that would often threaten to throw me into a permanent nervous breakdown...

I am living that dream, now. And I can say this, I don't wanna go back. Not for a million dollars, not for a billion dollars. Being a child sucked (even though, as a child I was able to eat whatever I wanted and didn't have to worry about this disease). I don't care what anyone says.

On a lighter note,

I, too, wanted (and still want) to be a writer... I write every day. :)... I have several works-in-progress. (I should choose just one, but I figure, heck... why not? As long as I'm writing I'll get them done eventually.)

Celey, being a child was not fun for me, too. Not good times. I'm glad you're realizing your dreams now. Better late than never!

Well at first I wanted to be a Coca Cola truck driver, because I thought I could pull over and drink as much coke as I wanted. lol

Then I wanted to be a doctor for the longest time, then a nurse. Which I almost did pursue. I did end up working in doctors offices, and was looking in to being a medical assistant when my health took a turn on me.

But I always wanted to be a Mom and wife, and I have had that come true. :)

Roflmbo. . . . Oh, my. . . . At first I thought you were talking about dreams while sleeping Kitt :) I was wondering how I would put them so you all would not be telling me to make an appt. to see a therapist today!

Anyway, I think I have ADD because I've always had dreams to do many different things and still do :) The main ones that have stuck are writing and helping people which I do everyday now. . . I am so grateful to have these opprotunities in my life :)

I also would not want to be a child again either, because it was so nuts that I still cringe at the thought. . . Maybe if I could take the life lessons I've learned with me :)

To be a nurse with my masters in oncology. i had a go, but couldnt do chemistry and physics- so i worked as a nurse aid in a cancer ward for 5 years while i got my teaching degree.

I wanted to be a teacher and then as a teen, I wanted to be either a teacher or a journalist.  I became neither though I do write alot in my job.   That's pretty much all I can think of that I dreamed about - oh of course, marriage to a man who loved me, children.  Being able to do things to help my mother and little sister (dysfunctional home!)

As a child, my dream was growing up and being a nun, because that was the right answer when Sister Mary Mercita would ask what do you want to be when you grow up?  Also I look good in black.

As a teen, I dreamed of being a Hallmark Mom and Wife........of having a job in an office and living in "Leave it to Beaver's home".

OK I was raised in a Irsh Catholic Parish.........what  can I say??

     Well, my dream when I was younger was to be a nurse.  I have always wanted to be a nurse even into adulthood.  I still want to be a nurse but recent things that have changed that dream.  I was going to be starting school for nursing but I hurt my back about a year ago at work and I am still fighting with workman's comp on that matter.  When I can go back to work, I will try and find a job somewhere working with the elderly because I just love them so much.  They are great folk to work for.

as a child i always wanted to be an er physician. as i got older and started having pets, i changed that to a veterinarian, now that i'm in college, i'm working on my psychology degree because i want to work with the veterans administration and council war veterans who have PTSD. this new dream came about as the result of seeing everything my dad has gone through w/his PTSD, and just wanting the men and women who serve our country to get the best counseling available.
