I am sincerely sorry about your Grandmother's dx and the road that lies ahead for all of you. Of course you have my prayers and you have come to the right place to ask for prayers.
Advice for you:
1. Take good care of your own health both physicial and mental.
2. Make a list of all the questions you have for you Gma's physician, you want to know the names of the medications, chemo, side effects, how long will the treatment take and how many courses of treatments. You will find that the plan of care will change so be ready to feel confused yourself as depending on how she does they may change the plan.
3. When you go to the hospital and plan on spending any time, take your own pillow so you can find a corner to nap in and hope they have some comfortable recliner chairs for family.
4. If you need a break, go outside and take a walk, or sniff out a computer as most hospitals now have a computer for patients and family to use. It gives you a chance to look things up on the net, stop in here or whatever. I would often wake up at 4:00 AM in the morning and sneak down to the computer as there was one in the patient lounge not being used, no one bothered me and I could get my mind off lack of sleep.
5. Seek out the nearest Starbucks and treat yourself to a cafe' mocha or whatever makes you feel warm inside.
6. Find the chapel and sit in the peaceful queit.
7.......Most important keep telling your Gma and your family that you love them.
Take care and gentle hugs for you.
Kitt.
